World Famous PINK’S in Hollywood, CA
If your ever feeling down due to the “LA Blues” you can always grab a hot dog over at PINK’S in Hollywood and drown your sorrows in some greasy goodness.
The joint has been around forever (70 years) and still going stronger than ever. A line is always wrapped around the building during lunch, dinner, and late in the night even. Why so popular, I mean it’s “just a hot dog” right?
PINK’S is one of those places that cheer you up no questions asked when you bite into one of those chili dogs (snap!) or the “Today Show Dog”, “Martha Stewart Dog”, and my favorite the “Rosie O’Donnell Dog”! The building is disheveled, parking sucks, and well, it’s just a hot dog…
Now wait a minute, “just a hot dog”? This old school joint is always packed for a reason, good food! The variety is overwhelming as you can’t go to PINK’S and get a regular hot dog, you got to “bam” it up with some bacon, cheese, kraut, and don’t forget the onion rings which just so happen to be the best in LA as well. They have hamburgers and have never tried one yet, but I bet they are just as tasty. One of these days I’m gonna starve myself for 3 days and pig out on a select number of menu items while I have an ambulance waiting out front ready to take me to Cedars just in case…
I see many restaurants in LA struggling for business around here because they draw you in with cheap prices and good food then make a HUGE mistake and raise prices and give you less or inferior food than what drew you in from the beginning. That’s just flat out bad business…
Now “Dodger Dogs” on the other hand are a whole different animal (literally) as they have their own special quality and can only be enjoyed fully at Dodgers Stadium bar none. I got a “Dodger Dog” one time and Alyssa Milano smiled at me as she was passing by and I almost dropped my “dog” man (weak in the knees...)!
Anyway, a lot of starving actors and such eat at PINK’S as do the famous these days. The staff is a bit like the “Soup Nazi”, you do not ask questions and don’t dare stand there and try to decide on what you want as you better know or they will pass you up fast! “No hot dog for you”!
