Warner Bros Passes $1 Billion.
The powerhouse production company known as Warner Bros has just hit and passed the $1 billion (pinky to mouth) dollar mark for it’s domestic gross this year and it only took 192 days.
Thanks goes to “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” which raked in almost a $160 million in less than a week! WB says 7 of it’s biggest grosses and box office hits were, “17 Again”, “Friday the 13th”, “Gran Torino”, “The Hangover”, “He’s Just Not That Into You”, and “Watchmen”.
Now this is nothing new, Warner Bros has been doing this for 9 years in a row. According to the studio, “The Hangover” has become the highest grossing “R” rated comedy ever for domestic box office sales with more than $236 million. The record was previously held by “Beverly Hills Cop” for the past 25 years! Although 25 years ago box office tickets were half as much, so do the math.
Since Warner is doing so well these days, maybe my friends could get their jobs back? I know of many that were laid off and “let go” earlier this year leading to the studios being virtual ghost towns. Well, not like it used to be anyway and hey, they are making “billions” right? So anty up and give us poor saps some work!
